Using Windows Remote Desktop

My Easy Step By Step Tutorial on Windows Remote Desktop.

Now that you have an IP address (N1.N2.N3.N4) or a hostname (name.domain.tld) you will want to connect to it and see what it can do for you.  Take that IP address or that hostname and follow my easy to use instructions.

1) If you are using Windows 7, press the start menu button or the Windows key on your keyboard. The key looks like a little window symbol, its on the lower left between Ctrl and Alt.  Press it, and you will see a text entry box that says "Search programs and files"
 2) In that little box, type "mstsc.exe" or type "remote desktop"  then click on the icon that appears at the top of the list in the search results.  Clicking on it will run the program and you will see this:
3) in the text field labeled "Computer" enter the given IP address or hostname.  Press the round Options button on the lower left to expose the hidden options.
Now fill in your given username here, check the password box to save the password.  On public computers, or borrowed computers never save the password.  In the display tab, you can configure full screen or windowed screens.   Finally, press the "Connect" button to connect. On the confirmation dialogs that appear, just press "YES"

Press the "Save As" button to save a shortcut to your desktop that will store the computer name, username and password.
